Ephesus (Efes) is one of the greatest ancient sites in the Mediterranean. During its heyday in the first century BC, it was the second-largest city in the world, with only Rome commanding more power. Many reconstructed structures and ruins, including the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, can be seen here.

Easy, convenient, no worries, clean, comfortable
Booked this as an early transfer to the airport from the cruise. Nice to have the driver waiting when we got off the ship. Super clean car, friendly driver who spoke excellent English.

Great Tour of Ephesus region.
We learned so much on this tour. Our guide not only pointed out interesting details on the tour but gave us a chance to experience a nice Turkish meal. He also cared about our safety and needs. I can't remember his name but he was really good. Wish we had a little more time. As promised, we were back in time for our cruise departure.

Ephesus done right
A truly enjoyable excursion. Our guide Nora was fantastic and made the trip worth every penny. The van was spacious, clean ,and comfortable. Our lunch stop was Greek food at a small local eatery. Don't hesitate to take this trip instead of the ship excursion.

Fun in Ephesus
Excellent tour! Dicle was our guide - she’s was fabulous: she’s extremely knowledgeable, kind, speaks great English and will customize your tour. Mustafa was the driver and he was also very good, drives safe and the vehicle/van was roomy, comfortable and clean.
People Also Ask
Q:What tours can you do of Ephesus?
A:
The most popular option is a guided tour, taking you through the well-preserved structures and monuments with a knowledgeable guide. If you prefer to explore at your own pace, self-guided tours are also an option and provide the flexibility to take your time as you explore each site.
Q:Do you need a tour guide for Ephesus?
A:
It ultimately depends on your preference and travel style. There are certainly benefits to having a guide, but it is not compulsory to visit Ephesus on a guided tour. A guide can provide valuable context and insights you might not get as you navigate the often-crowded site.
Q:What is the best time to visit Ephesus?
A:
The best time to visit Ephesus is in spring and autumn when the temperature is more moderate, and the crowds are lower. During the peak summer months, the temperature can climb up to 80°F (26°C), and the city can get overcrowded with tourists, making it harder to fully enjoy your trip.
Q:What do I need to know before going to Ephesus?
A:
Wear comfortable shoes as the site is quite expansive and requires a lot of walking to get around. Second, bring sunscreen and a hat, as little shade is available, especially in summer. Finally, consider purchasing the Aegean Museum Pass, which includes Ephesus and other museums in the same ticket.
Q:Is there a dress code for Ephesus?
A:
While there is no official dress code enforced by authorities, it is important to dress respectfully when visiting any historical or religious sites. It is also important to remember that Ephesus can get quite hot in the summer months, so bring a hat and sunglasses to protect yourself.
Q:How many days is enough for Ephesus?
A:
Most travelers can cover the must-see sights of Ephesus in a couple of days. This will provide enough time to explore the ancient city ruins and allow time to visit the Ephesus Museum and other nearby sights that many travelers easily miss.
